Caffeine has got to be among the shittiest drugs to get addicted to. There's no euphoria; you just get anxiety and can't sit still. And then in a couple of hours you get tired and want to go to sleep.
I just don't understand how people get addicted to the stuff. Even when I needed to drink it for my job, the moment I quit that place was the same moment I quit drinking coffee. It's simply not a fun drug at all. There are much better stimulants out there.
Allow me to introduce you to NICOTINE.
No euphoria, also gives you anxiety, makes you stink, discolors your teeth, hair and nails, and slowly kills you.
Is that nicotine, or just the substances its usually consumed with? Google isnt giving any good answers.
At least with nicotine you get a bit of a buzz. Especially if you haven't smoked/vaped in years. A nicotine buzz can feel like a small hit of weed when you have no/low tolerance.
get tired and want ~~to go to sleep. ~~

If that were the case, then decaf would be more popular.
It could be argued that the some of the processes used to decaffeinate the beans can substantially change the flavour profile.
Decaf is significantly more expensive

It really does suck. You feel tired sooner and right before that you are anxious and jittery
I mean are most caffeine enjoyers addicicted? I don't think so.
I drink ~ 1 Liter of coffee a day but it's because I work a 10 hours shift, 4 hour round trip commute, and get 5 - 6 hours of sleep. I never really crave or need caffeine but it does help keep me from falling asleep at the wheel and dying
Even if you're not addicted, that whole everything you just said is terrible for you, and I say that as someone who's lived that life before.
You're 100℅ correct, thanks for your perspective. Aiming to get out of my current work situation in the next few months.
