The Irish literally became the people who watched over black slaves, weren’t they? They also became the first “police officers” whose jobs was to retrieve run away slaves. This is one of the reasons that many police officers nowadays tend to be Irish

True, but nowadays they enjoy white privilege and they just became part of the oppressor group. They are indistinguishable from the oppressor, at least in the USA
Good point. I'd say that the historical struggle of the Irish is still worth paying attention to.
It's not really valid to conflate Irish-Americans with the Irish - they are materially different. We're not eugenicists here.
