In case for example the instance we use as our main got hacked. Not like that would ever happen tho

I guess my question was more around what you get from moving the account rather than creating a new one, but I suppose it would be nice to maintain a unified identity. I was talking to someone about “confederated vs federated” on matrix a while back and they advocate for the same.
