OccamsRazer @lemmy.world I've never used an iPhone, been a die hard android user since the beginning, but I might switch because of this. I don't care about AI and don't want it on my phone.

You are going to need to go with something other then apple if you don't want it in your phone. All thier plans are around adding it.
I feel your pain as I'm in the same bind.

Most of Apple’s AI will run on device and not online, so that’s something.
