So by XKCD's calculations, when Piccolo blew up the moon, it should have taken the Earth with it.
That would have solved a lot of problems here.

I thought Roshi blew up the moon.

The both did. Roshi blew it up when Goku transformed. Then it was restored by the dragonballs. Then Gohan transformed and Piccolo blew it up too.
I always remember Piccolo because that was the one that I first saw on Toonami when I was a little kid.
