I've heard Prey is good so I'm hoping that goes on sale.
@JCreazy@midwest.social @chri1stian@lemmy.ml Prey is free on GOG via Prime, if you want to give it a shot on Windows or get GOG running on Deck.
Excellent, thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can get it on GOG
It was being given away on Amazon Prime Gaming recently, not sure if it still is. Redeemed as a GOG code.
I haven't heard much about that one. What excited you about it?
It's sci Fi and it looks cool I guess.
It's an awesome sci-fi horror FPS/RPG, with stealth and metroidvania elements. It's from Arkane, who made both Dishonored games.
The story and atmosphere are really good (don't look up spoilers if you intend to play it), there are multiple ways of reaching your objectives, and multiple endings according to your choices. The graphics and design are really nice.
Not a big fan of horror games in general but it's one of my favorite games of the last decade.
Prey is amazing! One of my favorite games.
I haven't played it on the Steam Deck, so I can speak to its performance, but I really enjoyed this game. It's a whole lot of fun of you like mysterious, creepy games with some jump scares. I'd say its closest comparable is BioShock 1 & 2.
Oddly enough, I've only played Bioshock Infinite.
Infinite is a very different type of game than 1 & 2. I absolutely loved all 3 (1 and 3 more than 2 tbh). But if you really liked 1&2, you may not like infinite, and vice versa. 1&2 are dark and suspenseful. Infinite is well-lit and they stopped doing most of the jump scares. But the gameplay felt amazing and the story was a 10/10.
