  Pretty inaccurate. Putin had no problem letting the Wagnar kill more than the army in Ukraine, he killed Prigo because he led a mutiny against Moscow

  Parts of the Kremlin hated him for treason, parts supported him. The Russian general who was recently fired supposedly supported Wagner, along with a number of others in the military. That's why he took Rostov-on-Don so easily.
  
  Different things to get the ire of both. He's widely loathed outside of Russia, to include here, for the brutality that the PMC he ran was known for. He got the ire of Putin for recently using that same PMC to try a rebellion against his government.
