Hollywood jerked off to him til like 2018, even when he was blatantly evil already the hollywood liberal writer bubble loved their teslas so he was just a quirky genius to them. Buying twitter was the thing that made him a bad guy in their minds, but it was working with Trump 2024 that was the actual nail in the coffin and even after that there were op eds about how he should be welcomed back to the 'good guys' after he had his one week fallout with Trump.
