Even if the mod was too intense, it's sad to see communities go when they have a following. Can they be revived with their communities intact to continue on under new leadership?
Interesting. Subscribers aren't usually the best metrics to assess a community, as ghost accounts are still subscribed, active users is usually a better one.
That doesn't really say much, the most active video games community on the Threadiverse are !gaming@lemmy.world or !games@sh.itjust.works and have thousands of monthly active users.
!videogames was meant to be a place to talk about video games, not a gamer identity space.
And by the way, I dislike gamer culture as much as bro culture. I specifically put “This is not a gamer identity space” in the rules, and people seemed to appreciate that.
If you’re seeing a theme here, it’s that I am against toxic masculinity wherever it exists.
Anyways, it’s all well and good. There will be another place to host something similar in good time.
