Just some reference points, draw your own conclusions
The contiguous US is only around 7 million in land area minus 1.5 for Alaska. 5.5m with more than 10 times the people. I'm drawing conclusions.

How about this regions size and population compared to Nepal
Funny, I was thinking that would make a good comparison. Another interesting note, that area is separated from the rest of the continental US by the Appalachian mountains. Things to consider about why Americans aren't rioting hard enough.
