I work with a guy who refuses to wear his ear plugs saying he "can't hear anything with them in". Brother, that is the point. Do you find the sound of an air compressor soothing?

I've been to plenty of sites with a "plugs and caps" policy of needing both, and still finding it overly loud.
And there's some 56 year old man who goes "back in my day, we just got used to it and didn't whine. I never wear the plugs."
