No one demanded substance decades ago when they all became call-girl fundraising removed. Interns write their slop. They are totally uninformed on must highschool course level subjects and above. AI of the present is a major upgrade even if it is only correct 80% of the time. However, alignment training techniques are deeply flawed in their implementation under the surface. Anonymous negativity in the real world, walking up to strangers to be personally negative to them in public will land you in an institution or jail as it should everywhere.
