  • This talking point annoys me so much.

You can't just divide the world into: A country For Albanians, A country for American, A country for Communists, A country for Trans people, A country for Cis people and so on. You can't just make borders like that and sort people into them. It has never worked.

Yet often times when I mention issues with being trans f.ex the first thing libs tell me is: "Okay you should move."

Cool, are you sponsoring me? Ofc they aren't gonna sponsor me

Ofc I'd move somewhere it's better for me. People should move to escape dangers, if they can. Not all of us can move tho' and moving isn't gonna solve the issue either. Especially when it comes to implementing communism. There is no secret communist country that's gonna start liberation missions, despite what some DPRK stan accounts might tell you. Real communism can't even be implemented without proletarians all around the world joining hands, so no matter where you go it's gonna be a battle.

    • Isn't that whole division thing a bedrock of conservative thought? "Everyone has their place" taken to the point where, to them, it logically makes sense that everyone should be neatly sorted into different countries and we'll all magically live better loves when we have our own ethno states to stay in.

      • Yeah that is one of the core tenants and it's a bedrock of fascism. Along with the state.

In the words of Mussolini: "Fascism ... affirms the immutable, beneficial, and fruitful inequality of mankind..."

The culmination of conservative thought is a strong independent State that shepherds it's people, only allowing them to move where they need to.

"Those who do not move cannot feel their chains." But the fascist enjoys being chained to the state. It's a necessity.

Also this is why Social-Democracy is objectively the moderate wing of fascism. Because it pretends that the state is the servant and people are the master, flip that and you get regular fascism.

        • I started to lose you at the last paragraph. The way I've been told Social Democracy is simply Capitalism with a lot of safeguards & controls in place. Places like Norway and Denmark with better safety nets. It's still Capitalism and if the Capitalist class was smart they would implement this everywhere to keep their system safe...

I don't see how that's closer to Fascism because I think of Fascism as Capitalism in crisis. Those Nordic states are Capitalist but seem much more stable than even the US and other more oligarchic states like most of western Europe. So wouldn't Social Democracy be farther away from Fascism due to the increased economic and social stability?

          • Social democracy isn't just capitalists being smart, it's capitalists bribing the workers by redistributing the superprofits generated by imperialist growth. It is smart to get worker buy-in to capitalism by giving them a cut of the growth, but fascism doesn't occur just because capitalists suddenly become too stupid to do social democracy. It occurs when the superprofits decline and the empire has to turn inward to sustain growth. The social democratic ideological superstructure remains, but the superexploitation comes home.

          • I would suggest reading The Period of Bourgeois-Democratic “Pacifism” as it explains it better than I could.

"... These organisations do not negate, but supplement each other. They are not antipodes, they are twins. Fascism is an informal political bloc of these two chief organisations; a bloc, which arose in the circumstances of the post-war crisis of imperialism, and which is intended for combating the proletarian revolution. The bourgeoisie cannot retain power without such a bloc. It would therefore be a mistake to think that “pacifism” signifies the liquidation of fascism. In the present situation, “pacifism” is the strengthening of fascism with its moderate, Social-Democratic wing pushed into the forefront."

Social-democracy is further away from it, in a sense that it creates favorable positions for the proles, but the bourgeoise will also use same stability and peace in order to dupe the proles into letting their guard down and them bam it's too late. There's no one left to speak out for you. That's why it's an illusion that they're your servants, they won't willingly cut off their violent wing, because it's essentially a part of them.

      • It may not be THE basis of conservative thought, but its certainly a pillar.

    • Even if you do move, the next thing they’ll say is “why did you move here? You should stay and fix things where you came from”.
