Got downvoted on lemmy.world for pointing out that if you murderer people indiscriminately you're going to end up killing trans people.

I responded to someone saying that Palestinians are transphobic so we should get to kill them. I guess it makes sense though, it's how liberals can live with themselves. If they don't think of an entire diverse group of people, or an entire religion, as transphobes or anti-lbgtq it becomes harder to support genocide. You just think of all of them as anti-lgbtq and maybe you can sleep better at night. (Not providing any evidence for this though of course.) They don't even hide they are racist any more. Amazing.

Second comment just to note this part that annoyed me:
On top of that, you're acting like the reason Israel has targeted them is because they're LGBTQ+. You don't label a civilian death as a hate crime just because they're a certain race or gender. So no you're statement is blatantly false.
The statement was simply " Israel is probably the nr.1 murderer of trans people in the world right now." That has nothing to do with intention. We're just talking about who is killing the most trans people, not their purposes in doing so. I have no idea if it's actually israel that would rank #1, but the point is not refuted simply by shifting the focus to the subject of intentions
Palestine is not a race, and Islam is %100 transphobic and the main religion practiced there (98% of the population).
Palestinians are an ethnic group, and the bigotry toward them is just more of the general anti-arab racism that westerners have been inculcated with for more than two decades now. I know next to nothing about Islam, but even assuming their religious texts endorsed transphobia, why would you then assume every single person adheres to those documents to a tee?
How hard would it be to get these people on-board with bombing parts of the US because of all the queer-phobic far-right Christian elements that dominate certain regions? And hell, it's not like atheists can't get on board with the hatred too, plenty of those assholes turned into "cultural christians" and rationalize their bigotry with evo-psych and shit like that.
I'm only asking rhetorically, we all know this shit isn't really consistent.

  Even assuming they did, does that really mean we should endorse genocide against them? If we did a survey that found that the median African American was transphobic, does that mean we should support the Klan and Thin Blue Line types? No, of course it doesn't! It's just pure racial hatred using superficial progressivism as a shield.
  
  That's the stronger point, but some people are strangely resistant to the idea that genocide cannot be justified under any circumstances, so I feel compelled to go down roads I wouldn't have to with decent people.
  
  You do what you judge appropriate, but the reason I made the African American comparison is that people usually are only okay with genocide against specific groups (they have a Hitler particle, I guess), so doing the same logic with a group that they don't support the genocide of might help to humanize the demonized group. American-style radlib Bidenists generally are going to see Arabs as insects but have at least a hazy gut reaction against the idea of slaughtering African Americans, so you might be able to get somewhere by comparing those (or other relevant) groups. At least, that's my intuition about it.
