"Never Let Me Drink Tequila Again!" (jk, it's just molting time!)

The dreaded yearly molt is upon Nugget. We decided it was also time for a beak trimming and feathers were EVERYWHERE. Nugget tends to molt more dramatically than the other ambassadors.

He will return to his former glory soon with dignity restored.

If you zoom in on his beak, you can see the dark quick underneath. The process isn't all that different than trimming dog/cat nails, there's just some extra attention to the geometry to ensure both halves of the break close properly.
